From 1997 to 2018, the prevalence of cancer increased in the Belgian population. In 2018, the share of men who suffered from cancer reached 2.1 percent, whereas the prevalence of cancer in women was 2.8 percent. Over the years, the prevalence of cancer was consistently higher in the female population in Belgium.
